Lyrics
Verse 1
Through the love of God our Savior,
All, all will be well
Free and changeless is His favor,
All, all is well
Precious is the blood that healed us
Perfect is the grace that sealed us
Strong the hand stretched out to shield us
All, all must be well
Verse 2
Though we pass through tribulation,
All, all will be well
Ours is such a full salvation,
All, all is well
Happy still in God confiding
Fruitful if in Christ abiding
Holy through the Spirit's guiding
All, all must be well
Verse 3
We expect a bright tomorrow;
All, all will be well
Faith can sing through days of sorrow,
All, all is well
On our Father's love relying
Jesus every need supplying
Or in living or in dying
All, all must be well

About This Hymn
In suffering, we need hymns that remind us of God's character and stir us up to hope in him. This text from 19th-century lyricist, Mary Bowley Peters, takes us on a journey in each verse. We begin by saying in faith, "All will be well," despite our challenging circumstances. As we meditate on who God is and see his present provision, we can then say, "All is well." Finally, as we dig deeper into the riches of God's love and grace toward us in Christ, we can say with humble confidence that "All must be well."
