I Cry Aloud (Psalm 77)

Lyrics

Verse 1
I cry aloud, aloud to God,
O He will hear me when I call;
When all is lost and come undone,
When hope is faint and faith is small.
I seek the Lord through troubled days,
By night I reach and long for grace;
But all is dark, the light has gone,
And when I pray my spirit faints.

Verse 2
You bring the night before my eyes,
The darkness bears away my words.
A song of light will guide my heart,
And hope will lead my weary search:
“O will the Lord cast off my prayer?
O will He ne’er bestow His care?
Has all His love forever gone?
Are all His promises no more?”

Chorus
Alleluia, Alleluia!
By faith I know that you will lead,
Your hand is ever guiding me.

Verse 3
I will recall the work of God,
I will remember deeds of old
My mind will hold before my heart
The ancient wonders of the Lord.
What way is holy like the Lord’s?
What name is great from shore to shore?
Your mighty arm deliv’rence won,
All Your redeemed will ever sing:

Verse 4
O praise the Lord, the Son of God,
Who tread upon our cursed ground;
Who spared us from the wrath of God,
From waves of judgment yet to come.
As He was raised upon the tree,
He made a pathway through the sea.
Our Shepherd strong will lead us on
And guide us through eternity.
